Our venture capital team looks to become involved in most cases when a company is in the due diligence or proof of concept stages. Sometimes the most value is created during the initial development of the company structure and at the infancy stages of product development. As with all of our investments, we like to begin with our end goal clearly defined and work backwards. By having an opportunity to partner with entrepreneurs in the early stages of their company's development, we are able to help manage the operations and financial aspects of the businesses, leaving them with an undistracted opportunity to focus on the vision and mission of the company. Target investment size is $250k-$2.5MM.
Our growth equity practice looks for opportunities to invest in companies and people with a proven business model, exceptional company culture, and a true opportunity for rapid growth. Although we will underwrite a company based on a very stringent set of financial guidelines, what we are keenly interested in are companies that have developed a culture that breeds enthusiasm and a desire to create something special. In addition to capital, we provide our greatest value to growing companies in the areas of maximizing valuations in the private and public markets, and also leveraging our extended team of resources to open up opportunities that may have not been available prior. Target investment size is $1MM - $5MM+.
We believe in providing more than just capital in any venture we are involved with. We are not interested in taking over the management of companies, but have found that by leveraging our experience and ability to shape visions into profitable results, we tend to play a critical role within the core management team. From sales and business development, to back-office operations and treasury management, our portfolio company executive team is available to augment any part of the overall team in order to maximize shareholder and principals' investments in the companies. In most cases, we will form or join the board of directors, as well as take some active role in the daily operations of the company.
